Huge Savings at Ballard Designs Outlet

ballard design curtains

Negotiating at the outlet is not common practice, but there may be times they will work with you. They work hard to ensure that items or categories that need deeper discounting are, so you’ll likely be thrilled with the price. The measuring process on our initial call—yes, you can choose to talk to a real, live person—couldn’t have been simpler. Ahead of my scheduled chat with Kasandra, one of the customer support managers, she sent me a brief prep guide on products, tools, and more to have on hand. I hung them using a pinched pleat look that took me way longer than I thought it would, but I am so satisfied! I need to find one more spool of that ribbon so I can finish my other panel.

Is the Ballard Designs Outlet Worth it?

Velvet was too heavy for us; paper shades too light to feel long-term. Plus I’m one of those people who actually prefers the sun to filter in in the morning; I don’t like sleeping in pitch black. In our space, I knew they’d lend the same timelessness that we embrace in all of our furnishings, decor, and paint colors.

They do, indeed, finish the room, and without the usual shopping anxiety. When I priced out a pair for my office, the total was about $260+. In the catalog, Eddie trims out the panels with a lovely ribbon that costs $16/yard. I love Eddie, and I love Ballard, but I was not going to fork out $400+ for a pair of curtains. While the in-person outlets don’t have a website, you can find some seriously fantastic deals online in their clearance section.

Is there a Ballard Designs Outlet website?

The products come well packaged in hard cardboard but not overflowing with unnecessary padding, and installation was straightforward. The slightly textured panels bring warmth without feeling fussy; the pleats are sharp but not straight as a dart; and they add a little privacy without being lined. Everything about them, even the hardware, is soft and delicate.

I want everything he uses to style the spaces featured in the catalog and online, but the item I coveted the most were the coral/peony colored drapes featured in the dining room. So many varying shapes, sizes, and colors- there truly is something for everyone. The outlet carries quite an assortment of Ballard Designs drapes. You may even get lucky and find fabric to make your own! Ballard Designs fabric is often in stock in the online clearance section as well.

You can find the direct link in my online outlet roundup post. I snagged a $500 pivot mirror for $28 and some $150 bathroom towel bars for just $6 by browsing their online deals. Keep in mind that outlet prices are based on the full retail price and may not reflect any current online sales. Before making a purchase, check the Ballard Designs website to see if the item you’re interested in is available at a better price due to a current sale. If so, it might be wise to opt for the online purchase, as it also comes with a warranty. In addition, you can find items with red clearance tag prices for even steeper discounts.

Ballard Designs Rugs

The final purchase was curtain/drapery rings to achieve my Ballard Designs & Eddie Ross inspired look, and once the rings got a gold spray paint makeover, I was good to go. The Greek key ribbon is totally temporary, so if I find a ribbon I like better I can easily switch it out. I am an independent blogger and I am not affiliated with any company. The views and opinions expressed in this blog post are solely my own and based on my personal experiences. On top of their base discount, Ballard Designs Outlets are AMAZING at running frequent doorbuster promotions for super slashed prices. Outlet pricing typically starts at 50% off, but there are categories that may be more.

Everhem’s café curtains come with more than a dozen customization options, including fabric, pleat style, lining, and hardware. After holding up each piece in various lighting throughout the day, I decided on the Bone hue with classic box pleats and matte black hardware to blend in with the window frames. Lastly, I loved the look of two curtains instead of a single panel, so we went that direction.

But, as an editor, I like to test as many products as I can to get a better sense of quality and material. I decided to get in touch with the brand to see if I could try out the curtains at home. I looked online at jacquard trim, but the prices ranged from $7/yard on up, and I wanted these curtains to be under $50 total.

I also would love a black/white pattern roman shade for the window just to really amp up the look. Head straight to the outlet or browse their current clearance options online. By browsing clearance chairs online, you can find deals just as good as those offered in the Ballard Outlet, which has a large selection of discounted chairs.

Ballard Outlet is your one-stop-shop for discounted and high-quality home furnishings and décor. As a subsidiary of the company, the outlets offer a selection of overstocked, discontinued, or slightly imperfect Ballard furniture from the retail product line. When they arrived, I could see that the hype was real.

Below are some examples of inventory that has been spotted. To ensure a smooth shopping experience at the outlet, make sure you have the product’s SKU readily available if you have a specific item in mind. This will help the staff assist you in finding the item quickly and efficiently. Products available at Ballard Designs include furniture, lighting, bedding, rugs, wall décor, and much more.

I don’t know how he does it, but he is damn talented (and so nice!). His book, Modern Mix, is my go-to for decor styling and thrift store tips. I’ve read it cover to cover, and I can safely tell you it is NOT just all about pretty pictures. You will learn a lot- seriously, buy his book now.

Book vs Movie: Analyzing the Adaptation

monster house old man

It received generally positive reviews from critics and grossed $142 million worldwide against a $75 million budget. It received nominations for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film, but lost to Happy Feet and Cars, respectively. Nebbercracker is seen only in photos in the GameCube and PlayStation 2 versions of the video game adaptation of the film, and appears briefly in the GameBoy Advance version. However, two people, DJ Walters, his neighbor from across the street, and Zee's boyfriend Bones, are aware of what he is hiding, though DJ knows more, due to spying on Nebbercracker for years. Nebbercracker, deeply concerned about the destructive and dangerous nature of Constance, takes it upon himself to protect their community by confining her within their house. The complex relationship between Nebbercracker and Constance can be described as a mix of love, fear, and tragedy.

Mr Nebbercracker

DJ, Chowder and Jenny escapes the police car, but were trapped in the house. It also represents, to the technology nerds in the audience, an interesting refinement of animation techniques. Like Robert Zemeckis’s “Polar Express,” “Monster House” (for which Mr. Zemeckis served as an executive producer) uses the digitally captured movements of real actors rather than computer-generated algorithms as the basis for its animated images. The people in the movie look a little like molded-plastic figurines (the ones in “Polar Express” looked more like porcelain dolls), but their gestures are uncannily fluid and unpredictable, making you appreciate the quality of the acting more than you generally do in animated films.

Here, the house expresses a degree of remorse over the carnage that it has done, and Nebbercracker said that he has done the best for it. But now, her suffering must be over as he reveals the dynamite to blow up the house that has changed her. The house was shocked by this and started to get furious, but Nebbercracker argued, trying to blow the house up with the dynamite, and tried to tell the house that it was the best for it. Suddenly, the house disarmed him and ultimately lost its ability to reason, as it succumbed to its murderous instinct to eat him.

Constance's Reawakening

He has been dedicating his time to spying on Mr. Nebbercracker through his telescope for a few years after the old man becomes known for scaring kids and stealing their toys and is called crazy for his obsession with it. Believing a hidden truth to the sapient house, DJ convinces his best friend Chowder and new friend Jenny to explore inside it no matter the circumstances to unveil the mystery on Halloween night. I'm sure Chowder will remind you of someone in your fifth-grade class, wherever or whenever that was.

Tim Burton adapted this story of a man who is trying to connect with his dying father-a man who couldn’t help but exaggerate the stories of his life. In the aftermath, the quartet gather at the house's still-intact basement, returning everything Nebbercracker stole to their rightful owners. During the credits after everyone leaves, the house's victims emerge from the basement unharmed, including Bones, who discovers that Zee is now dating Skull. Constance hates Jenny because she helped DJ and chowder to stop her evil plan and was the one who cause herself to throw her, DJ and chowder out of the house. When consumed by rage, the house has two trees linked to its head that are its chimney emitting a red glow and smoke, indicating its heart is racing. Its overall appearance is more ferocious than its previous state, having several large boards protruding from its jaws.

Just DJ is gone upstairs, Zee puts a tape cassette in the radio and plays her loud music at full volume, then calls her friends over when she's not supposed to. DJ slams the door to his room and goes to bed when he starts having a nightmare. That night, DJ receives phone calls from Mr. Nebbercracker's house with no one on the other end. Zee's boyfriend Bones scared DJ from behind while wearing Chowder's Halloween mask & takes it off.

And since this is a movie aimed at an audience for whom the grosser bodily functions are a perpetual source of laughs, it vomits them up again. Dune: Part One Book vs Movie Review

DJ apologizes to Nebbercracker for his losses; Nebbercracker acknowledges that he and Constance have been trapped for 45 years, and thanks DJ, Chowder, and Jenny for freeing them from their misery. At the site of his house, Nebbercracker, with the help of DJ, Jenny, and Chowder, returns all the items he confiscated back to their owners. As Jenny goes home with her mom, Nebbercracker bids farewell to DJ and Chowder while giving Chowder his basketball back and jokingly tells them to stay off his lawn. As the boys leave, Chowder states that Nebbercracker will find a way to get his life back on track. Nebbercracker starts to get mad, but DJ calmed him, and ask him about the truth. Nebbercracker then reveals his encounter with Constance and her later death.

Following her death, Nebbercracker completed construction on the house, because he knew that's what she would've wanted. However, Constance's spirit took control of the house, causing it to come to life. Sadly, this wasn't the same Constance he previously knew; the abuse she took during her circus life, and what the kids did to her that Halloween, turned her into a ruthless, violent, bloodthirsty, and murderous monster that attacked and killed anyone and/or anything that came close.

DJ apologises to him for the loss of his house and wife, but Mr. Nebbercracker thanks DJ and the kids for freeing him and Constance. That night, children in their Halloween costumes are lined up at the site of Mr. Nebbercracker's house where DJ, Chowder and Jenny help him return the toys to their owners. DJ and Chowder then go trick-or-treating which they previously thought they were too old for. One day before Halloween, DJ and Chowder went to collect their ball which accidentally fell into Nebbercracker's lawn.

This made her lose her footing, and to regain her unruly balance, she pulled accidentally the switch on the cement mixer, falling in with a lump of liquid concrete, and was killed. Fortunately, the children interfered, and with this, he left the task of destruction to DJ. After DJ successfully destroyed the house, he spent his final moments with Constance's spirit who was now free from the house, and thanked him saying that "for forty-five years, we have been trapped for 45 years, and now we're free!". That Halloween night, instead of candy, he handed out the toys and other various items he had stolen to their previous owners including Eliza's tricycle as an apology to all the kids he pretended to hate. Martin Scorsese’s 3.5 hour movie about the Osage tribe who were murdered over the span of years, was adapted from a book by David Grann who researched the true story.

Thanks to Jenny's quick actions in pulling the house's lamp, the possessed house ended up vomiting them to the outside, along with the contraptions that they supposedly used to make it sleep. That night, she possesses the telephone in her house (off-screen) and calls DJ through the telephone. Thinking that it may be a trick, he tries to call the house itself, only for no one to answer him. Afterward, while DJ sneaks away, Bones (who had lost his kite when he was 10 years old) expresses his anger and sadness over his stolen kite on Nebbercracker's house by damaging the lawn. When Constance sees this, she proceeds to possess his kite within the basement (the stomach) and uses it to lure Bones into the house. Unaware that this was a trap, Bones approaches the kite, only to have it coil around him and the house quickly devours him.

Nebbercracker, realising that it was Halloween attempts to go back to his house and calm his wife before she becomes active. He reveals his past to DJ; revealing how he met his wife and the real circumstances of her death and her soul possessing their house before he attempts to go back inside. Nebbercracker is first seen yelling at a little girl who accidentally ended up on his lawn while riding her tricycle.

Swings out on a crane's hook with the dynamite, dropping it into the house's chimney and vanquishing Constance. Finally freed, her spirit briefly reunites with Nebbercracker before ascending to the afterlife; he thanks the trio for freeing them from their suffering. DJ and Jenny are knocked into the construction site as a result of the house and Chowder's battle on top of the cliff that leads down to the site. They manage to formulate a plan where Chowder will lure the house under a crane so that the two can drop the stick of dynamite down its chimney which leads to the heart. This plan is stalled, however, when the house is dragged down the hill and it breaks apart as a result, leading to the heroes celebrating their apparent victory. This celebration is short-lived, however, as Constance's control over the house is still intact and she manages to reform it from its broken remains, resulting in a more horrific and monstrous form that proceeds to devour the excavator before chasing Chowder.

Jenny

The children, left to their own devices, must conquer the evil that, all but unnoticed, flourishes in their midst. In her final form, Constance is completely demolished, but quickly assembles her broken pieces into an even more menacing form. Her entire body is made of jagged, broken pieces of wood with now-shattered window eyes and a triangular mouth with longer fangs. The chimney is set on the center of her head like a bomb, she keeps her first tree arm as the left arm, her right arm is now made of jagged wood and her right tree arm are now located at the bottom of her body as a tail.

When he was a young man, he met an obese woman, Constance, at a circus and fell in love with her. Mr. Nebbercracker, appears to be mean and heartless to anyone on his lawn, but only because he is afraid his house will attack the person. He is most likely in his sixties or seventies, as he's pretty slow on his feet. When she was human, Constance was a tall obese woman with short black hair, pale pink cheeks and grey eyes. In her first appearance, she wore a green dress with white flowers and heels.

The Virgin Suicides Book vs Movie Review

Nebbercracker, when he was younger, was a member of a demolition squad in the US Army. He immediately fell in love with her, and felt bad for her when he saw that kids were picking on her due to her obesity. He married her shortly afterwards, and began building a house for the two of them. In its final form, the house resembles a porcupine made of timber boards, with the shattered yet same windows and a triangular mouth with a longer flange chimney set in the center of its head.

She was once an unwilling member of a circus freak show until Horace Nebbercracker saved her, falling in love and later becoming Nebbercracker's housewife. She lost her balance while trying to chase them away, falling to her death into the basement of their still unfinished house along with some fresh cement. Having become part of the foundation, she possessed and physically became the house, desiring to kill all the children of the neighborhood. The Nebbercracker's House is a location from the 2006 animated horror film, Monster House. The trio consults supernatural expert Reginald "Skull" Skulinski, who speculates the house must be a rare type of monster created by the fusion of a human's spirit and a man-made object that can only be unbound when its heart is struck.

The next morning, a Westbrook Prep student named Jenny Bennett is selling Halloween candies. DJ and Chowder see her going to Mr. Nebbercracker's house and they rush out to warn her catching her before she is eaten by the house. Jenny then calls Officer Landers and Officer Lister, but does not believe their story. Later the trio seek advice from Skull who is claimed to be an expert on the supernatural. They learn that the house is a Domus Mactabilis (Deadly Home in Latin) a supernatural being created when a human soul merges with structures.

Separated from the officers, the children explore the sleeping house and end up in its basement. They find all the toys Nebbercracker had stolen and a shrine to his wife, Constance the Giantess, whose skeletal remains are encased in cement. The house soon awakens and attacks them, but they trigger its gag reflex by grabbing its uvula equivalent (a chandelier), forcing it to vomit them outside.

Old Man Nebbercracker's House

The house continues to chase down DJ and his friends until they were near a construction site, where, for the safety of the children, Nebbercracker throws a stone brick at his house and stands up against Constance, revealing his non-child-hating ways in the process. However, DJ accidentally desecrated Constance's remains by breaking the concrete casing that covered the corpse, revealing the skeleton and inciting the house's fury. The house then picks them up one by one after spotting the kids before they find the place to hide. The house had the slinkies snatch Chowder before doing the same on the pipes (organs) that snatch Jenny and had the wooden stairs attack DJ, who barely escaped back to the hall that turned into a mouth cavity, with his friends nearly devoured.

Chowder visits DJ a day before the main plot kicks in, and he, DJ and Jenny decide to get inside the sapient house no matter the circumstances to unveil the mystery on Halloween night. At first the house, which sits on a perfectly ordinary suburban block, seems like nothing more than the dilapidated home of Mr. Nebbercracker, a cranky old man with bad teeth, a gruesome comb-over and Steve Buscemi's voice. It quickly becomes clear -- to a plucky boy-detective type named DJ and his two young sidekicks, and then to everybody else -- that the ramshackle Victorian is possessed by a malevolent, demonic force. The house roars, belches, spits fire and in the end turns out to beKathleen Turner. After DJ, Chowder, and Jenny manage to defeat and destroy the house, Nebbercracker is seen dancing with Constance's ghost before she goes on to the afterlife. Saddened by Constance's departure, Nebbercracker mourns for her and his house while clutching the only remnant of his house, the doorknob.

He knows that the pain and suffering that his wife had in her lifetime has made her into a tricky but savage, bloodthirsty, and murderous monstrosity of her former self. That night, when Constance was locked in the circus car (possibly due to many people eventually disgusted with her looks to the point that the manager locked her up and let the children make fun of her), Nebbercracker helped her escape from the circus and married her. Only a little later, their house began construction, and that's when the trouble began as their happiness proved short-lived. Children always mocked Constance for her body like her days back in circus whenever they met, and often threw eggs, tomatoes, and rocks at her. This ultimately led to the tragedy, that both change Nebbercracker's life and set the whole events of the movie. After taking possession of the house, Constance's physical appearance is comprised of the different parts of the structure.

And for the most part they talk and behave like real kids, too, or at least like characters drawn from the rich tradition of plucky, intellectually curious kiddie-lit heroes. DJ is descended from Encyclopedia Brown (perhaps by way of Jimmy Neutron, but never mind), and Jenny bears some temperamental resemblance to Harriet the Spy. I’m sure Chowder will remind you of someone in your fifth-grade class, wherever or whenever that was.

Carnival Gratuities Tips: Full Guide to Cost & How They Work

how much to tip on a cruise

You can still hand out cash to individual members of the staff that you appreciate, although it’s not required. A couple traveling together will see about $30-$40 per day in gratuities, or about $200+ over the course of a week-long cruise. Royal Caribbean crew members work extremely hard throughout their multi-month contracts, and gratuities are a way to reward them for providing amazing service. Viking Cruises gratuities are $15.00 per person, per day for all staterooms.

Luxury Cruise Lines

Choosing a cruise can be an exciting but sometimes challenging decision. Here are some steps to help you choose the best cruise destination for your next adventure. Having several small bills is very handy, especially for early morning breakfast delivery. $2.00 to $5.00 is appropriate, depending on the food or how many meals ordered. According to Disney Cruise Line, for instance, tipping applies to everyone—even infants.

Who else should you tip on a cruise ship?

I had prepaid my gratuities, and I assumed the porter was a cruise line employee, so I didn’t tip him. Automatic gratuities cover just about every tipped crew member on the ship. If you order room service, it’s customary to give the person that delivers your tray about $1-2 per meal. If you enjoy tipping in cash, consider giving an extra cash tip to the crew members who gave you excellent service on your cruise. As for the question, I use this as a guideline regardless of the cruise length actually. With gratuities already being added to the cruise, and they are ever-increasing, I’ve become more selective on how I choose to tip extra.

Third Disney Cruise Staffer Arrested for Possession of Underage Images

However, if someone goes above and beyond during your trip (such as a particularly helpful stateroom steward), feel free to give them extra. Many people wonder how tips work for other crew members on a cruise ship, such as housekeeping, laundry, or spa staff. While it may vary depending on the cruise line and its policies, these tips are often pooled together with the rest of the gratuities and distributed among crew members. However, cruise lines encourage paying the flat per-day gratuity rate to support all workers, including those working in the laundry room, washing dishes, or cleaning the ship late at night. While automatic gratuity charges may be convenient for some passengers, others prefer alternative tipping onboard.

You can also leave a small gift for your favorite crew member. Just remember that cruise ship crew live in very tight quarters, without much room for personal belongings. So something edible (maybe a favorite candy or snack from your home region?) will be more appreciated than something they would have to store. If there’s a crew member who goes above and beyond for you, there are some other ways to show your appreciation. Beyond leaving a cash tip for your cabin steward, or favorite server or bartender, some other small gestures will go a long way. With the autograt system, many crew members who rarely received tips before now get a share—like the laundry or kitchen staff on some cruise lines.

how much to tip on a cruise

One of the most luxurious aspects of cruising is the service of room stewards -- that team of people who often go unseen in their daily mission to keep your cruise cabin sparkling fresh and clean. The worst thing you can do is wait until you are home from your cruise to address it. You may want to give them a tip per drink or a larger tip at the end or even the beginning of your cruise. There will be an 18-20% tip automatically charged when ordering an individual drink, so no need to add more in most cases. Tipping can impact the quality of service you receive on a cruise ship and support hard-working crew members who rely heavily on tips for fair compensation and often support their families back home.

You’ll Also Love

Cunard‘s daily gratuities are set at $11.50 per person, per day for guests in standard cabins. The cost is $13.50 per person, per day for guests in Grill Class suites. On Costa Cruises, service charges of $12.50 per person, per day are charged for cruises departing from the US. Cruises in Europe, World cruises and those departing from a non-US Caribbean port charge 10 Euros per person, per day. Here is a list of the daily gratuity charges by major cruise lines. The average daily gratuity on a cruise is $14-15 USD per person  – approximately $30 per day, per couple in a cabin.

Prepaid vs. Onboard Tipping

Embarking on your cruise vacation should be stress-free and exciting. To ensure that, understanding the tipping practices before you set sail will help you sail smoothly through your journey. Automated gratuities are often viewed with skepticism, with some believing they don't reach the crew. The truth is, these gratuities are generally divided among the ship's service staff. And, the crew will still get their regular share even though you have received a discount on the cost. Additionally, make a list of the employees who provided the best service and send a note of appreciation to the cruise line with their names included.

Who Shares the Automatic Cruise Gratuities

These are usually calculated on a per person/per day (or night) basis by the cruise lines. Always remember to check your cruise line’s policy on tipping before setting sail, and don’t hesitate to tip more for exceptional service. With a generous attitude and an open mind, you’ll have a memorable and enjoyable cruising experience, thanks to the hard-working crew. On cruise lines where gratuities are not included, you can monitor the charges on your shipboard bill either from the Front Desk or on your stateroom TV.

First and foremost, if you’re feeling generous and want to leave an extra tip for a service, don’t accidentally double-tip! Beyond that, don’t feel pressured or obligated for additional tipping. Olsen gratuities are entirely at the discretion of each passenger. The recommended amount is £5 per passenger, per day, to be divided equally between the cabin stewards and waiters. This amount is automatically added to passengers' onboard accounts toward the end of the cruise, but it can be adjusted at reception at any point during the sailing.

The top tier of crew recipients, however, are the waiters and stateroom attendants. For this example, the amounts listed below are for standard (non-suite) staterooms, may vary by a dollar or so and subject to change every couple of years. Here’s another category that needs addressing; room service delivery fees. Also, if you pre-pay your gratuities, and should the cruise line raise the cruise tip amount before you sail, you are “grandfathered-in” at the previous lower rate. Savvy cruisers know that gratuities begin before you board your ship. If you plan to drop off your larger pieces of luggage, be prepared to give the portside luggage handler a $2- $5 tip per bag.

The Latest Rules Of Tipping: How Much To Tip In 2023.

This is an excellent article, which really clearly explains all the issues around tipping. In the UK, tips are completely discretionary and are only to reward service that goes above the normal expectations. For this reason, I have always found being expected to pay tips, on an already expensive cruise, very irritating and have sometimes had them reduced at the service desk.

All of this complicates the question of which crew members to tip extra and when it’s appropriate to tip on a cruise. So we have put together a quick guide on what we have experienced in 20 years of cruising when it comes to tips for the crew. Before we get into tipping etiquette when you go on a cruise vacation, it’s important to point out that attitudes on extra tipping are largely cultural and vary greatly. Americans have tipping engrained in their DNA whereas Europeans don’t consider tipping a requirement. For Europeans, it is more of a gesture of simple “thanks” no matter how small the amount is.

This allows you to pay off your cruise balance early, so that by the time you get onboard, you won’t have to worry about extra charges. Cruise line tipping policies vary from one cruise company to another. Even though cruise gratuities technically aren’t mandatory, they are customary on most mainstream cruise lines. It’s customary to tip at the end of your cruise, either by leaving cash in an envelope in your room or adding it to your bill.

Balconies in select suites offering fantastic views of port, rocket launches and the Banana River. Break up with your weekly routine with a weekend cruise from Miami and set sail on a memory filled getaway that’ll take you so much further than a standard staycation. Royal Caribbean® offers plenty of bolder-than-ever weekend sailings to some of the Caribbean’s most stunning shores onboard the world’s most incredible cruise ships — no days off required. Which means you can fill your year with even more bucket list adventures. This seven-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary on Wonder of the Seas® is a top choice if you want to change things up and go on a unique adventure in each port. Your first destination is Philipsburg, St. Maarten, where you can tour the island on an ATV, sample rum from a local distillery or end the day with a sunset horseback ride on the beach.

The 1927-built steamship (for Chadade Steamship Company) was acquired by Yarmouth Cruise Lines in 1957. In 1965, the ship burnt at sea (between Nassau and Miami). Port Cape Canaveral (locode USPCV) is located on Florida's Atlantic coastline, between Miami and Jacksonville.

Cruise Line Shuttles

That means you can get off the ship and on your way anywhere between 8-10 a.m. Of course, you then have a 45 minute ride to the port, followed by security screening. As we mentioned above, parking at the port itself is convenient, but runs $17 per day. The cheapest spot we’ve found is parking with CruiseTime Parking.

They actually allow you to park for as little as $10 per day. That rate is considerably less than what the port charges, though you don’t get the convenience of parking right at the ship. Not every cruise ship that calls Port Canaveral home heads to the Caribbean or Bahamas. Victory Casino Cruises operates out of CT2, next door to CT3 (the new Carnival terminal). The casino ship runs two daily trips (most days) to out-of-state waters where gambling is legal. It it hard to beat the convenience of parking right at your ship.

But there is also the cost of parking if you plan to rent it during your cruise. If you want to rent one-way, there are agencies available in both Orlando and Port Canaveral. So you could theoretically pick up a car in Orlando and drop off near the port. A one-way trip from the Orlando airport to Port Canaveral by taxi is estimated at $115.

All of these shuttles run from the airport to the port. Cruise lines have shuttle services that take passengers straight from the airport to the terminal. However, this transport method is expensive, which is why you should consider it only when necessary. The closest airport is Melbourne International Airport, approx 28 miles from the port. Thanks to the competition between shuttle companies, there are a number of inexpensive options to get between Orlando and the cruise port.

A good number of them do pick-ups at the airport, but you can find others that get passengers from other locations. Therefore, you can plan your day according to shuttle availability. You can opt to use one of the private shuttle services in the area to get around or to get to the port. It's fun to sit on the deck with your cruise ship docked nearby. At lunch and dinner, expect specialties like tuna poke, fried shrimp and fish, jalapeño poppers, chowder and more.

Lift off into interstellar exploration at the Kennedy Space Center. Among interactive Mission Zones you’ll see the Saturn V rocket and the Space Shuttle orbiter Atlantis. Go behind the gates to discover historic launch sites and working spaceflight facilities, plus marvel at the U.S.

We noticed this particularly during the evening show, a jukebox musical of Buffett hits written by Jimmy himself. While some passengers enthusiastically sang along, fins up, other people smiled and tapped their toes, but clearly didn't know the words. Grab a snack at Port of Indecision, the ship’s buffett, or grab pizza from Frank and Lola’s. I’ll say that this particular cruise isn’t a foodie experience, but it’s totally reasonable for as fast as the journey is. Back onboard, we dropped our beach bags in our rooms and met up for bingo and trivia in the Euphoria Lounge, a solid choice for drinks, chilling and entertainment.

Margaritaville at Sea Paradise Review

Likened to the Margaritaville brand, the vibe of a Margaritaville cruise will be carefree, breezy, and tropical. Interior common spaces are decorated with bright colors and natural elements, like tropical foliage and nautical rope. The ship is 85,619 gross tons and carries 2,650 passengers at full capacity with 920 crew members. Margaritaville at Sea Islander will cater more extensively to families.

Ultimate Beverage Chill

I recommend checking in as early as possible especially if you want to book reservations for the spa, dinner at Fins or JWB Prime Steakhouse (named for James William Buffett, of course), excursions, etc. Priority check-in is available and it does make things a bit easier. The line is much shorter, so if you want to get onboard faster (and disembark faster on the last day), this option is for you. But if you have recently recovered from the virus, then the rules are relaxed.

License to Chill

In addition, Carrier’s Public Health Policies and Procedures, including those relating to COVID-19 are described generally in Section 5 below and elsewhere herein. Carrier reserves the right to change or modify these policies as required by governmental agencies, health authorities in the U.S. and the destinations visited and for health and safety reasons without notice to Guest. Carrier’s Public Health Policies and Procedures will be updated as needed and are available at (“Website” as defined in Section 2(i) below).

Sit back and relax-we’ve got your License to Chill with priority boarding, dinner and wine tasting at JWB Steakhouse, 10 drinks, a $150 spa credit, Wi-Fi and more. Margaritaville is Sea is offering a limited number of FREE 2-Night Cruises to The Bahamas for Heroes plus their guest on select sailings this spring and summer. MVAS will not charge any change fees for members who are modifying their sailing due to deployment.

DEFINITIONS AND SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT

Sure, it might not be on the size and scale of what you’ll find on a new mega-ship, but you won’t skimp on the experience even though it’s a short cruise. On the plus side, as the only cruise line serving the port, it can make it easy to navigate versus the larger and busier cruise ports around the rest of the state. In other words, if you want to just hit the port and get on the ship, it’s easy to do. But if you were planning on a classic cruise for 7-nights hitting all sorts of Caribbean ports, that’s not the case… at least as of now.

Guest remains liable for the cost of the Ticket and Carrier is not responsible for the financial condition and integrity of any travel agent or other paying agent. Guest agrees that receipt of any refunds or notices by the Guest’s Travel Agent, including this Contract, shall constitute receipt by Guest. In the event that a travel agent shall fail to remit to Carrier any monies paid to the agent by Guest, Guest shall be and remain liable for the fare due to Carrier, regardless of whether liability is asserted before or after embarkation.

Discover the charming and eclectic beaches of Key West and the island oasis of Cozumel on the all-new Margaritaville at Sea Islander. There’s no easier, quicker, or less expensive way to get there, so even though it’s a fast trip, wasting away in Margaritaville at Sea was the perfect little getaway. It’s about 10 minutes off of I-95 and pretty easy to get to from anywhere in Florida. Parking at the port is $22 per night and valet is the only option, so be ready to hop out when you arrive.

Perhaps the biggest and boldest change was the paint job done on the ship’s hull, complete with palm trees, parrots, and an iconic touch of teal accent color that sets the ship apart from anything else sailing. Margaritaville at Sea, which began sailing in May 2022, offers still affordable rates, but is priced somewhat higher. Look at the options for a typical cruise line and what’s offered can be overwhelming. For now, the cruise line only offers two-night trips over the Grand Bahama. Set sail for the diverse ecosystem and vibrant culture of Freeport, Grand Bahama Island aboard the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise and get ready to immerse yourself in your very own resort at sea full of live entertainment, poolside drinks, sun-drenched relaxation, and delicious food. Meet the swimming pigs of The Bahamas, spend the day swimming with dolphins, or work on your tan as you sip a tropical cocktail.

13 best all-inclusive cruise lines

cruise all inclusive deals

This is another Caribbean destination that has very appealing prices during high season, and jaw-dropping specials during the off season. And as noted in the Montego Bay section above, we noticed that many of the cheaper Jamaican all-inclusive resorts are getting pretty lousy reviews these days. Unless you are booking at one of the Sandals, you need to pay close attention to recent reviews at the cheaper places now. All-inclusive expedition-style cruises (think hiking, kayaking, and inflatable boats launched directly from the ship) start in roughly the same price range as non-expedition sailings but can reach much higher prices depending on the destination. Our recommendation is to consider any expedition cruise under $500 per person, per night a good deal. All-inclusive European river cruise deals land in the $350 to $450 range per person, per night as well.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises

To help you decide what a "deal" really is for an all-inclusive cruise, we ran searches on Caribbean cruises for the upcoming season on the lines known for all-inclusive cruising. However, guests who only indulge in the occasional glass of wine or cocktail will not see the full value of the package. We took a look at the a la carte items included in the inclusive package to determine the value of Windstar's offering (based on a weeklong sailing). The first and second guests in a cabin must each book the same Plus or Premier package, but the third and fourth guests are not obligated to do so, meaning a family doesn't have to pay for amenities that kids won't use.

Best All-Inclusive Cruises for Your Next Vacation

To get from Cancun Airport to Cozumel you can take a short (and super scenic) flight or take a shuttle to the ferry in Playa del Carmen and then take the ferry over, which takes about two hours each way in total. If your budget is so low that your options are Puerto Plata or staying home, then Puerto Plata could be perfect. But if you can afford a bit more I think it’s worth checking the deals in Punta Cana, which is listed a bit below. Unlike other cruise lines, even the small boutique ones and the yachts, Paul Gauguin has only one ship in the fleet.

A Guide to Scoring the Best All-Inclusive Cruise Deals

All-inclusive cruising sounds alluring — until you realize that this phrase can mean different things to different cruise lines. Popular destinations include Italy, Japan, Costa Rica, and Alaska, and many travel companies take care of everything for you, essentially making it all-inclusive. If you're looking to unwind with a partner, relax on a girls' trip, or even connect with your adult children, there are countless adults-only, all-inclusive resorts to choose from, depending on where you're looking to visit. Adults-only resorts have been a total respite for me and my husband after hectic months of juggling work with our kids' school and sports schedules. I recommend booking a split stay, starting at an all-inclusive resort in Guanacaste near the beach for some fun in the sun and moving to a resort near the famous Arenal Volcano for a jungle adventure. I've been on several all-inclusive vacations with my family, friends, and work, and I've helped other people book them in destinations around the world.

How can I maximize the value of my cruise vacation?

Select nonalcoholic drinks (including soda, non-pressed juices and sparkling water) also do not incur extra fees. The line's creative and energetic fitness classes are also fee-free; other lines charge $15 to $20 for these. Five lines stand out for having the most inclusive cruise fares in the industry.

With new highways and an efficient new airport, Punta Cana should probably be the first choice for any value-oriented traveler who appreciates gorgeous beaches. The actual town of Punta Cana doesn’t have much going on, so staying in an all-inclusive resort here is wise and you won’t be distracted by things outside of your resort. With over 75 hotels that offer all-inclusive deals, Punta Cana has the greatest concentration of these resorts on any Caribbean island. The resort area occupies the far eastern tip of the Dominican Republic and the hotel beaches can either face northeast or southeast.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Deals Guide

Led by English-speaking locals, these shore excursions give guests the chance to dive deeper into their passions, be that wine, history, architecture, sports or fitness. In addition to multiple options for guided exploration daily, guests may choose to step off into a DIY adventure of their own, with the whole of Europe laid out before them. Finally, the once-per-sailing exclusive program will immerse guests even further into the local culture, through experiences such as dining in a local resident’s home in Bratislava or attending a private concert in the Rhine Valley. The pioneer of all-inclusive cruises has added new extras to build upon an already stellar program. These cruises now include door-to-door transfers, which means you’ll get picked up from your home by a private chauffeured vehicle and driven up to 50 miles to the airport or directly to the ship (and the same goes for the return home). And starting on classic voyages, shore excursions are now included too.

Cabins on its older ships are compact yet cozy, with a modern look, but you won't spend much time in them. That's because the line prioritizes getting you to multiple ports and spending as much time as possible on land, with longer stays and evenings ashore. Most exploration toys, such as Zodiacs, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, are complimentary. Scenic Eclipse even carries e-bikes, an inflatable trampoline and water skis.

It has recently made its cruise fares more inclusive with the introduction of Simply More pricing. Four cruise lines cover more costs in their cruise fares than the average line, but not as many things as the truly all-inclusive lines. If you have to take out your wallet, it'll be for ultra-premium liquors, gourmet wine-paired meals in the Vintage room, cigars in the Connoisseur Club, spa treatments and shore excursions. As you might expect, all-inclusive cruises are typically found on luxury or upscale cruise lines and are priced higher because they include so much.

Celebrity Cruises reserves the right to cancel offer at any time, correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions, and change or update fares, fees, and surcharges at any time without prior notice. Two passengers sharing a cabin must both select Have It All at the time of booking. Unlike most cruise all-inclusive packages, however, HAL's Have It All doesn't include crew gratuities.

The line is soon to replace The Grill by Thomas Keller with Solis, a Mediterranean restaurant focused on fresh and healthy cuisine, all made from scratch on board. Spa and salon treatments, hands-on cooking classes in a state-of-the-art culinary workshop, small group or special-interest shore excursions, the fanciest wines and liquors, cigars and sundries. Additionally, Kensington Tours offers luxury private travel where every facet of the trip is meticulously planned for you. Although cruises aren't traditionally considered all-inclusive, with the right booking, they can have the same feel as a luxury resort. The Maldives, a remote set of islands in the Indian Ocean, offers a plethora of resort options for couples and families, but Baglioni Maldives is my favorite. It’s worth mentioning that Sandals now has 4 all-inclusive resorts with overwater bungalows, two in Jamaica, one in St. Lucia, and a new one for 2024 that has opened on St. Vincent.

Facing a peaceful bay on the southern edge of a peninsula, Samaná has only a handful of resorts offering all-inclusive options, but it’s still worth considering for people who prefer a low-key destination compared to most of those mentioned above. There is a new international airport nearby with nonstop flights from many key international cities, so it’s pretty easy to reach for most people. Room rates at all-inclusive resorts in Playa del Carmen are very competitive, and package prices are unusually good value because they come with a flight into Cancun, which is known for bargain flights. This isn’t an island, but being out of the Yucatan Peninsula it feels a lot like one. The nightlife in Playa del Carmen isn’t as famous as that of Cancun, though the town far more interesting in most other ways. As obvious a choice as it may be, Cancun does have a lot going for it, including cheap nonstop flights from all over North American and even Europe.

These can all be found throughout a beautifully scattered string of 700 islands (most of which are uninhabited). Cruise to the Bahamas to take a dive and witness a majestic coral garden at Orange Bowl reef, hang out at ultra-luxurious resorts like Atlantis, and shop resort fashion in Paradise Island or Nassau. The Bahamas has an island for every taste and style, and it's easy to enjoy its subtropical charm during an overnight stint or a week-long cruise. It's always wise to book your shore excursions in advance of your cruise to the Caribbean. Choose from the best cruise deals and specials from a variety of cruise lines, destinations, departure ports, sailing dates and cruise lengths. ● Caribbean cruises on luxury lines with all-inclusive fares are often lower in that region than anywhere else in the world.

Recommended shore excursions are for example purposes only & subject to change. Shore excursions must be booked at least 14 days prior to departure, may not be suitable for guests with mobility restrictions and are subject to availability. Free Internet amenity does not include streaming and includes a login for the first two devices per stateroom. Free Gratuities do not apply to any additional services or purchases made on board which will incur a service gratuity of 20%. Holland offers older Americans a refined experience at sea, with fine dining, complimentary fresh fruit and ice service in their cabins, luxurious bathrobes and bath amenities, and excursions that honor the diverse interests of their guests.

Generally speaking, all-inclusive in the cruise world means that the fare you're quoted includes the cost of your room on a ship (based on double occupancy), port fees and taxes, most meals, gratuities, and alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. Sandals is arguably the most famous high-end all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean, and Beaches is the company’s family-oriented brand. Curiously enough, those chains DON’T show up on most travel search sites so they aren’t included in the information in this list.
